Buffing or polishing are terms often used interchangeably to describe processes that correct surface imperfections found on a vehicle’s paint and enhance gloss. Depending on the type of damage, there are often multiple steps required to repair and restore your car’s painted surface. Decontamination of the paint using a clay bar, for example, is used to clean the surface and prepare it for the next step. Water sanding, colour sanding and wet sanding are various terms that describe the process of reducing the thickness of the clear coat layer to remove imperfections within it. Compounding is the use of a coarse abrasive product applied either by hand or polisher to abrade the paint surface and begin refining the gloss as it removes the defects. Polishing is used to refine medium to light scratches and bring up the beautiful lustre and gloss of the paint. Now the paint is ready for applying a wax or sealant to seal in the shine and protect your paint from the elements.

Overspray Removal

Whether it’s paint overspray, rail dust or surface rust — think of those tiny brown specks on light-colour cars — we’ll remove it with our time-tested processes. We can even remove tree sap from the clear coat.

Buffing

This is where the magic happens. Buffing —also known as compounding — removes severe to medium imperfections and begins the process of restoring your paint’s original gloss.

Tree Sap & Cement Removal

Have you ever parked your car near a construction site and found that your vehicle has a new cement-splatter finish? Don’t worry — often this type of damage can be repaired, as long as the cement hasn’t fully set in.

Polishing

The polishing process removes minor imperfections and refines the gloss of the paint. Swirl marks and holograms — the wavy lines and swirls that are most obvious on improperly polished dark-colour cars — can all be corrected to a swirl-free finish.

Wet Sanding

Also known as water sanding, this process removes scratches, abrasions, nibs and runs. Wet sanding can also level out textures such as ‘orange peel’ and increase smoothness to match other areas of the vehicle. Often, if the scratch or damage hasn’t penetrated the clear coat, it can be permanently repaired without the need for a costly repaint.

Paint Sealant

We offer a selection of both waxes and sealants to enhance gloss and protect the shine for many months to come.
